The Shambhala Center of Minneapolis presents a combination of Tibetan Buddhist teachings and Shambhala Training teachings. These teachings complement each other and form the foundation of The Shambhala Buddhist Path. Both traditions emphasize the importance of the sitting practice of meditation in concert with the discipline of study.
The teachings of Tibetan Buddhism are presented in English, and are referred to as The Shambhala School of Buddhist Studies. This curriculum of week-night classes and weekend programs is designed to deepen one's understanding and experience of the buddhadharma. The sequence in which the classes are taken is flexible, which allows for students to develop according to their own interests and commitments. All courses are open to both beginners and more advanced practitioners.
“How to be in your life is meditation practice, and how to understand your life is scholarship.”
Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche
